Getting Started
How do I use EachKid?
Add your children or young people using the + button. The home screen shows them sorted by who has waited the longest since their last one-on-one session. The person at the top is marked “Next up.” Tap to start a session — a live timer appears. Tap the End button or tap them again to finish.
How do I add a child?
Tap the + button in the top-right corner of the home screen. Enter the child’s name, pick an icon and a colour, then tap Save.
How do I edit or delete a child?
Long-press on a child’s card. A menu will appear with options to Edit or Delete. Deleting a child permanently removes them and all their session history.
Sessions
How do I start a 1:1 session?
Tap on any child in the list. A session timer banner will appear at the top of the screen showing the child’s name and how long the session has been running.
How do I end a session?
Either tap the “End” button on the session banner, or tap on the child who is currently in session. You will be asked to confirm before the session ends.
Can I switch to a different child mid-session?
Yes. Tap on a different child while a session is running. EachKid will ask if you want to end the current session and start a new one with the other child.
What counts as a session?
Whatever you want it to. The app is designed for tracking focused one-on-one time — reading together, a walk, homework help, a trip to the park. You decide what counts.
How is “days since last 1:1” calculated?
It counts full 24-hour periods since the last completed session ended. If you had a session today, it shows “Today.” If you have never had a session with a child, it shows “Never.”
The List
How are children sorted?
Children are sorted by urgency — whoever has gone the longest without a 1:1 session appears at the top. Children who have never had a session appear first. If two children have the same wait time, they are sorted by when they were added.
What does “Next up” mean?
The “Next up” badge appears on the child at the top of the list — the one who has waited the longest for focused attention. It disappears while a session is active.
Privacy & Data
Does this app collect my data?
No. EachKid collects absolutely no data. Everything is stored locally on your device.
Does this app need the internet?
No. EachKid works completely offline.
How do I delete all my data?
You can delete individual children by long-pressing on their card and selecting Delete. Uninstalling the app removes all data.
Troubleshooting
The app is not loading correctly
Try closing and reopening the app. If the issue persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling (note: this will delete your data).
I see an error screen on launch
Tap the Retry button. If the problem continues, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
